About
I am a doctor, and now I build.
I trained in medicine at Cambridge, where the emphasis was unapologetically academic. You were expected to love the mechanism of a drug nobody prescribes anymore, purely for its own sake, and I did. That love of the science is the throughline of everything I have done since.
I practised, and I loved it: the privilege of the room, the person in front of you, the reasoning under pressure. What drew me onward was a want for scale. I moved into public markets and then venture capital, backing the science I had trained in, and more recently spent time at South Park Commons working out what I wanted to build.
These days I write about biotechnology and the history of the drugs we take, I build at the intersection of medicine, markets, and AI, and I am working on an independent publication called Good Pharma. I still think like a doctor every day. If any of that overlaps with what you are working on, I would love to hear from you.
